Intro to Woodworking
Interested in pursuing a satisfying and rewarding hobby? Perhaps you are already a novice woodworker looking to learn more about shop tools and machine function. If so, our introduction to Woodworking Tools class might be the perfect fit for you. During this one day class, you will learn how to safely set-up and operate common woodworking machines, while discussing how to select the right tool for the job.
Machine centers and tools covered in this workshop are: jointer, planer, tablesaw, bandsaw, router, router table, sander, and abrasives.
This course will be taught at the Wood Technology Center of Excellence in Antigo, a state-of-the-art facility committed to providing training and skill-building courses across the wood products industry.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Tom Gallenberg is a master craftsman with a broad portfolio of commissions, ranging from custom furniture, cabinetry, doors and lighting to even outdoor architecture. His designs have earned him multiple “Best in Show” awards at the Milwaukee Fine Furniture Show. He is a skilled woodworker in both domestic and exotic woods and examples of his craftsmanship can be found across the country. Greene & Green John Hall Frame
This 2-day John Hall Frame class will provide an introduction to the style elements associated with Greene & Greene furniture. Taught by our Master Craftsman Tom Gallenberg, learners will craft a picture or mirror frame in the Greene & Greene style and will cover techniques such as creating cloud lift details, ebony plugs, and attaching leather straps to create a dramatic look.
