Two-and-a-half day intensive course empowers executives and staff on Lacey Act compliance and other critical regulatory issues
Alexandria, Virginia – The International Wood Products Association (IWPA) has announced that its 2023 Due Care training course will take place May 17-19 in St. Louis, Missouri. IWPA’s original due diligence training course was developed in partnership with the World Resources Institute utilizing U.S. Agency for International Development funding. The course provides attendees with a comprehensive analysis of the requirements of the Lacey Act and other laws relevant to trade in wood products. The day-long sessions arm those buying and selling wood products with the latest information about resources and procedures that will allow them to tailor a compliance system to their company’s market niche. These courses are for CEOs, CFOs buyers, compliance staff, customs specialists, sales staff, overseas producers, and exporters involved in the wood trade.
“These courses are a must-attend for any industry member that are responsible for navigating the growing complexities of the Lacey Act and other regulatory compliance issues,” said IWPA Executive Director Ashley Amidon. “These due diligence tools reflect the legal requirements and the industry’s need for flexibility to adjust their corporate standards and procedures based on the particular specifications of their product, the country of origin and the complexity of their supply chain.”
